About

Hello, my name is Emily.

Emily Apuzzo Hopkins | emilyapuzzohopkins@gmail.com

Having grown up in the South and being raised by Yankees, I consider myself a moderately cultured product of my surroundings. I grew up with an interest in music thanks to my mom, Sam Cooke, and the occasional classical art song.

That love of music led me to my studies at Belmont University from where I graduated in 2006 with a B.M. in Vocal Performance. Upon graduation, with my entire adult life ahead of me, I knew I wanted to work with children through music. I went on to teach music to Pre-K through 4th-grade students for 11 years and completed my M.Ed. in Instructional Practice at Lipscomb University in 2014. In addition to teaching Music, I also taught 4th grade Social Studies through which I developed a passion for human history.

I work full-time from my home in Nashville for an Australian company on a mission to create globalized citizens through language and cultural studies. Beyond all of the day-to-day rigors of a 9-to-5 career, I am also a member of the Nashville Opera Association, where I can be heard singing in chorus and comprimario roles. You might also see me running on the trails of Middle Tennessee, reading a library book, or organizing my thoughts into some writings of my own.

I am a wife to Jacob, a mother to Rowan, and a human who is just trying to do the best with what I have been given. I hope to encourage, inspire, and provoke others to live and love their best lives by sharing all of my own interests, endeavors, and curiosities.

Thank you for stopping by to read my brain droppings. Welcome - I look forward to connecting!
